New ‘Arte Mundit’ Sensitive Surface Cleaning System

Remmers have launched ‘Arte Mundit’ to cleaning and restoration specialists in the UK and Ireland as an integral part of their complete range of stone and masonry cleaning systems.

This follows Remmers acquisition of FTB Restoration in Belgium who had originally developed the innovative system. It is used for the water-free, safe, controlled and economic cleaning of interior surfaces including natural stone and marble, brick, terracotta, tiles, concrete, render and other plasterwork. In fact the efficient cleaning of a great many difficult and sensitive surfaces is now possible.

This advanced, almost odourless system was developed from a combination of poultice and cleaning agent technologies, it has already been used very successfully on important architectural buildings including St Paul’s Cathedral in London, The Royal Palace in Brussels and the Cathedral of St John the Divine, in New York.

Arte Mundit is a spray, brush or roller applied latex dispersion with special additives, which turns to an elastic film which can then simply be peeled off to remove the built up dirt, soot, smoke and grime. It eliminates the need for huge amounts of water and dust creation that occurs with other chemical and mechanical cleaning systems. This therefore effectively prevents damage to other adjacent decorated surfaces or sensitive materials, such as historic wooden floors for example.

It can also be used whilst the areas are in still continual use with only minimal restrictions for the works access – so normal activities and equipment can all continue and other people can work or visit unaffected.

Combining all of these advantages produces a very cost effective solution and they are all achieved with a safe and environmentally friendly product with no disposal restrictions.

Once cleaning specialists have used the Arte Mundit system – their traditional cleaning methods are as much part of history as the structures they work on!
